"Thru the years there have been many great captains recorded in the annals of Starfleet History. James T. Kirk. Jean-Luc Picard. Benjamin Sisko. Katherine Janeway. All great heros who defended the Fedaration against great dangers. Now, we pay tribute to a man who paid the ultimate price to keep the Fedaration safe. Solomon Tamien, an enigma of a man, was a true hero in every sense of the word. From his service aboard his first star ship he performed above the call of duty. His many commendations and awards speak for themselves of his accomplishments. Instead of dwelling on the career advances let us instead examine the man. Coming from a large family Solomon had an open hearted style of command combined with a steel will. He never in all his days of command left one crewman behind while their was still a chance, however slim, to save them. He always kept an open door to all he commanded and served with alike. His heroics and fury in battle were only matched by his legendary warmth and kindness.
According to the records from his last mission aboard the USS JABERWOCKY, Captain Tamien was abducted from the lounge by an unknown entity. When he returned to the ship he did so only long enough to promote his XO to full captain. He sent a coded message off to Starfleet Command and left his ship by unknown means. His crew stated that the captain had been called on to uphold a sacred task. A task vital to the survival of the Fedaration and the universe. He is officially listed by Starfleet Command as missing in action....presumed dead. He will be sorely missed."

Solomon, or Sol, grew up in rural Washington state on Earth. His parents died when he was very little. He
was adopted into the Thorne family and grew to love them like his own. Later in life he followed his
adopted parents example by joining Starfleet and going on to have an illustrious career. His vast
experience have made him a valued officer for both the academy classes and active duty. However Sol
has refused numerous promotions telling Starfleet that he is at his best on the bridge of a Starship. He is
happy to be able to Captain the vessel designed by his adopted father.
